AAIR is much more than a general seasonal allergy/asthma clinic. Opening in January 2013, AAIR was the first board-certified allergy clinic in Charlotte to offer sublingual immunotherapy (SLIT), food desensitization, medical laser treatments, integrative medicine, in-office infusion therapy, acupuncture and nutrition services. From diagnosis to treatment, AAIR handles some of the most complicated and rare immunological conditions, including primary immunodeficiency (PI), hereditary angioedema (HAE), PANDAS (now called post-infection-Autoimmune Encephalitis or AE), and many more. We are also firmly committed to our routine allergy and asthma patients as well.

Dr. O’Connor completed her medical degree at the University of South Carolina School of Medicine and her specialized fellowship training at National Jewish Medical and Research Center in Denver C.O. Dr. O’Connor is the only board-certified allergist/immunologist in the region that has also completed an additional two year fellowship in integrative medicine at the University of Arizona. Dr. O’Connor continues to be nominated by her peers as well as her patients, as one of the most trusted experts in her field. Dr. O’Connor has been recognized as a “ Best Doctors in America” for 2011-2020, North Carolina “Best Doctors ” for 2010-2019 and named as a Charlotte Magazine “ Top Doctor ” for 2007-2020.
In addition, AAIR’s staff consists of a pediatric allergist specializing in food desensitization, a physician assistant who has been working with Dr. O’Connor for 15 years and a nurse practitioner focused on aesthetics. We are excited to announce the addition of an amazing new nurse practitioner, psychiatry-trained and a PANDAS/AE specialist, who will be joining our team this summer. Dr. O’Connor is proud to have a team so well versed in allergy, asthma, and immunology disorders as well as being experts in their own niche.
